Research Topic:
The communities affect on the violence levels in schools
Research Question:
Does the socio economics and surrounding area of a school have an affect on the violence levels in the schools in that neighborhood?
Research Hypothesis:
Yes the socio economics does have an affect on the schools in the neighborhood. This is because different neighborhoods might have more money and everything will be cleaner. Also in cleaner neighborhoods there are usually a lot of people who are able to prevent some violence from happening. In lower class neighborhoods many of the families do not care what is happening in their neighborhood because it does not personally affect them. In higher class neighborhoods there are usually more activities for children to do. Also there are usually less strange people surrounding the schools. In higher class neighborhoods children feel more safe and that is why Granada Hills Charter High School has a lot less fights compared to other schools.

As part of our blog research for our public service announcement we were asked the following:
A. What do blogs succeed/ fail in telling their story?
Blogs are useful because they let people share their information and ideas. People are able to post their opinions and people can respond to them. In a blog you can post pictures and videos and your thoughts. People can comment on videos that you have made and other people can read them. Also it is helpful if you need to research a topic to see what other people think about your topic.
B. What makes a good blog? What is a good design?
A good blog has many posts and people responding to those posts. All of the information is easy to read and follow. It is easy to navigate the blog and find the different posts that you need to find. A good design is one that is clean cut and very organized. This is what ours is, we tried to make it as clean and easy to navigate as possible. It is also appealing to the eye and the colors work together.

Topic Mini-Saga
Columbine and Virginia Tech are both examples of violence that takes place in schools. Violence in schools has increased due to the media, weapon sales, home life and a community’s influence. Violence levels vary from school to school and it is affected by the student population and varying school policies. Word Count: 50
Community Mini-Saga
Granada Hills California is a very well rounded city that has multiple schools and parks. Many People want to live in Granada because it is a great place to raise children and has many opportunities for all kinds or people to make a better life for themselves and their families.
Fight Clubs
Schools all over America have fights weekly. Many schools have started Fight Clubs that have organized arranged fights that people volunteer to take a part in. Many people believe this is the influence of the movie Fight Club or the postings of videos on the internet but in reality these events have been happening long before then. even though this is a dangerous event thats taking place in our schools not much is being done to stop them. Some students have been caught and have been disciplined some even arrested and are facing charges.
